I trained in Scotland as a Pluralistic counsellor and have five years experience working with adults from a range of backgrounds. My approach involves getting a clear idea of my clients goals and working alongside them to reach their objectives. I am influenced by narrative approaches to problems which focus on working with clients by looking at their own beliefs and stories, and the role of these in their relationships with others.
I am particularly interested in working with depression and anxiety, and I am currently carrying out my doctoral studies in to depression at the University of St Andrews.

I use a collaborative approach in counselling, which means that I work with the client to gain a shared understanding of what their concerns are and of how best to address them at each stage. This means that I will work differently with each individual, trying to match the therapy to their needs.
I’m accredited by Alcohol Focus Scotland as an addictions counsellor and I’m experienced in working with the many issues that underlie problem drinking. These include bereavement, depression, anxiety and stress, relationship problems, domestic abuse, disability, and bullying, etc. I’m also a qualified group leader for Understanding Your Eating.
